Combining my expertise as an attorney and Certified Public Accountant (CPA), I have led public and private organizations as: General Counsel Mergers and Acquisitions Specialist Executive Team Member Corporate Lawyer Certified Public Accountant Financial Expert My skills are derived from the following steps in my career: Most recently, I was Vice-President and General Counsel of Gentherm Incorporated, a high-growth technology company that manufactures products that heat and cool the human body, including automotive seats, hospital beds, and therapeutic blankets. As the very first General Counsel of the company, I built a global legal office and led all legal aspects of several complex international acquisitions and new factory builds. In addition, I managed all corporate legal matters, including litigation, public disclosure, and contractual obligations. Previously, I was a Senior Equity Partner at Honigman, the largest law firm in the Detroit metropolitan area. My legal practice focused on mergers and acquisitions and public companies. During my time at Honigman, I was named a 40 under 40 award recipient by Crain's Detroit Business. I began my career as a CPA at Plante & Moran, the largest Michigan-based public accounting firm and the 14th largest in the U.S. I conducted financial audits, prepared tax returns, and consulted on a variety of financial matters, including mergers and acquisitions. During 2020-2022, my wife was very ill and I decided to become her full-time nurse and leave my position at Gentherm. She is an amazing person and has since fully recovered and I am grateful for the opportunity to have supported her during this difficult period. Outside Interests. I have set a goal of running a half marathon every month. My current streak is at 13 months. I would also like to run a half marathon in every state. So far, I have completed 11 states. I enjoy supporting Rochester Adams High School sports teams, snow skiing, bicycling, and spending time with my two certified therapy dogs who are trained to visit assisted living facilities, hospitals, and schools.
