About Kenneth Wills

Ken began his career as a drummer at age 7 and was playing in the Dixieland Jazz Band at his church by age 12. Ken studied classical music and went on tour to Italy and China while he was a softmore and senior in High School. Ken studied jazz at Hartt School of Music, Berklee College of Music and The University of Miami. Ken worked as a professional musician and bike mechanic for many years and then went back to school at San Francisco State University to complete his Bachelor of Arts and Master's degree in search of a lecturing position. Along the way Ken became involved in videography, photography, and fiction writing which is all leading up to a full length motion picture in the pulp fiction genre. Ken likes Frederick Douglass, Sigmund Freud, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, James Brown, and Stanley Kubrick. Ken is also working on a book entitled "The Political Impact of African American Literature: Frederick Douglass and Richard Wright"​ which is published at the JP Leonard Library on the campus of San Francisco State University. Ken's work has been on display at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, he has performed at the Fillmore West alongside The Allman Brothers Band, Squeeze, Man or Astroman, Ozomatli, Maceo Parker, and Michelle Ndegeocello.
