About Kenny Benoit

I have spent the last 13 years delivering mission critical technical solutions, at Amazon scale, in a variety of business domains: compute intensive digital video processing, high performance SOX and PCI compliant payment systems, high volume order fulfillment processing, grocery shopping web and mobile applications, and mobile applications targeting increasing delivery capacity between fulfillment centers. A seasoned technical leader, I have a track record of building engineering teams that are able to deliver sustained incremental value for customers by growing their collaborative ability, technical aptitude, and operational responsibility. Having designed, built and delivered a number of tier 1 services and applications throughout my career, I leverage my experience to train, mentor, and grow my broader organization’s technical and operational posture. Driven by an internal customer compass, I tirelessly work to discover the essence of what customers are asking for and to deliver simple high-quality solutions that are maintainable while maximizing return on investment for the business. I am passionate about software engineering excellence and empower my development teams to engineer solutions that have the qualities of being the technically correct solution using appropriate technologies that are easily maintainable, testable, secure and extensible. My focus on quality pays off long term in the form of increased delivery velocity, lower maintenance costs and higher developer retention in my teams. While engineering excellence is my passion, I recognize that technology teams work at the behest of the business to deliver value to customers and the business. To ensure that the business’s investment in technology is realized early and often, I work to deliver incremental value utilizing agile development techniques. To this end, I employ SCRUM methodologies to plan organize and deliver this value on a regular basis.
