About Kent Baughn

An Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) leader who brings operations and engineering together to accomplish business success while protecting workers and the environment. I am a champion for changing a company’s culture, where employees become excited about EHS and take responsibility for their own actions. I have a demonstrated history for bringing operational excellence to organizations by engaging the workforce to focus on EHS. I am an accomplished EHS professional with a range of experiences working with power generation, utilities, manufacturers, universities, developers, construction, medical devices, and state, local, and federal governments. My key strengths in communicating, improving, delivering, teamwork, and influencing, have given me the ability to quickly build rapport with workers and senior managers. Understanding the value of employee education and training, I managed the implementation of a global learning management system (LMS). Implemented and managed a global contractor pre-qualification process. Developed and implemented an effective safety and health management system in support of OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP). I am a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), who has expert skills at identifying hazards and responding to employee exposures and health concerns. I have implemented alternative solutions and operating procedures to address EHS issues. I routinely prepare and present performance metrics to all levels of management. I engage in a wide range of multi-discipline collaborative problem-solving tasks and have successfully worked with non-union and union worksites. I have demonstrated competencies in industrial safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, environmental integration, and regulatory compliance, as well as in management leadership and business administration. I am an avid hiker and skier who spends free time engaged in outdoor activities with family and friends.
