As a Delta Airlines Avionics Lead Aviation Maintenance Technician I supervise AMTs in the repair/replacement of components, system wiring checks and diagnostic evaluations of aircraft systems. Responsible for scheduling: inspections, servicing, testing, repairing, modifying, removing and replacing aircraft electrical instruments and electronic equipment. Aircraft systems include but are not limited to: power system components; instrument systems; indicating and warning systems; aircraft automatic flight control systems; including auto-pilots; automatic flight stabilization; aircraft compasses and altitude reference systems; auxiliary power plants; airborne com nav displays. Ensuring required and scheduled maintenance is accomplished and properly documented; signing for Return to Service; coordinating assigned maintenance tasks with other skills and departments to meet established ready times; evaluating workload to ensure efficient manpower utilization. Additionally, the Avionics Lead is responsible for maintaining a current knowledge of applicable procedures and methods relating to aircraft/engine maintenance as well as applicable inspection procedures, methods and specifications. This Avionics Lead Aviation Maintenance Technician position performs administrative functions delegated by the Foreman and Manager which include: informing personnel of company and/or departmental policy and procedure changes; ensuring personnel receive technical training and qualifications required to perform the departmental maintenance tasks; ensuring recurrent training is accomplished where required. This position also performs personnel functions such as: verifying and recording payroll; assisting in performing employee evaluations; monitoring Maintenance personnel to ensure conformance to acceptable appearance and conduct standards; and assisting in resolving any company or personnel problems. Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
