About Keon Hicks

My name is Keon Hicks, and I am a resident of Tennessee. Currently, I work as a full-time Tissue/Organ Recovery Technician in Memphis while also pursuing a full-time Pre-medicine degree. With over 7 years of extensive healthcare experience in various settings such as the Fire Department, Army, and hospitals, I have developed a solid foundation in the field. My passion lies in the craft of surgery, and I aspire to become a surgeon. As part of my pre-medical education, I spend significant amounts of time in the operating room, observing and learning from skilled surgeons. However, despite my dedication, I have faced numerous challenges related to my health and family matters, leading me to take a step away from pursuing my bachelor's degree. Recently, I discovered that I have ADHD, which has been a significant contributing factor to my educational setbacks, compounded by family financial troubles. Nevertheless, I am determined to remain in an academic setting and continue working towards my passions. Currently, I was recently granted admission into the Health Profession's Pathway Program, a specialized MD program offered through a partnership between Central Georgia Technical College and Trinity School of Medicine. Over the past two years, I have closely followed Trinity's School of Medicine, deeply impressed by their program and the impactful work they undertake in the Georgia area. My goal is to practice medicine in Georgia, as the hospitals affiliated with Trinity offer exceptional care to their residents. In order to pursue my medical and professional education, I am seeking to relocate from the Memphis area to Georgia. Throughout my experiences, I have found great satisfaction in saving lives and improving the well-being of those around me. Being in healthcare environments where I can learn, assist, and heal others is truly a gift that I am passionate about sharing. With a friendly and helpful demeanor, I am eager to embark on the journey ahead and contribute my knowledge and skills to the medical field.
