About Kerli Salu

I am a Senior Associate at COBALT mainly specialized in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and corporate law. I have been involved in several international and domestic M&A transactions at every stage – from auction, legal due diligence and drafting transaction documents through closing and post-closing matters. I have advised clients on share and asset deals as well as financial and strategic investments. I have also experience in various corporate matters and shareholders’ relations. I have received my master’s degree in law with honors from the University of Tartu. During my master’s studies, I further improved my knowledge of the European Union law (e.g. competition and state aid law), international investment law and international arbitration and took a closer look at the German and Austrian law at the University of Mannheim in Germany and the University of Vienna in Austria as an exchange student. I am a member of the Estonian Bar Association since September 2020. During my bachelor’s studies, I was an active member of the European Law Students’ Association in Estonia helping to organize various social and educational events for law students. I have also analyzed the national defense law of Germany and Austria for my undergraduate research and in the course of the revision of national defense law of Estonia conducted by the Estonian Ministry of Justice.
