About Kerra Bower

With over 16 years of work experience in the field of early childhood education, I am passionate about providing high-quality, culturally responsive, and individualized learning opportunities for young children and their families. As the owner and director of Little Scholars Development Center, I oversee the daily operations, staff development, curriculum design, and community outreach of a licensed child care facility that serves over 120 children from diverse backgrounds. I also founded Raze Development Inc, a non-profit organization that aims to dismantle the existing barriers and challenges that Black students face in education, by offering culturally immersive, family-centered, and trauma-informed programs and services. In my current role as the founder of Raze Development Inc, I lead the strategic planning, fundraising, partnership development, and program implementation of a new early learning and development center that prioritizes cultural competence as it pertains to Black Americans, family engagement, mental health support, and individualized instruction for students in Spokane. I leverage my analytical skills, team leadership, and training and development expertise to create and execute our vision. I also collaborate with other community leaders and stakeholders through various non-profit boards and strategic planning teams to identify and address the most pressing issues and needs of the local community.
