About Kerri Langer

I am currently teaching with the PVNCCDSB in permanent position. I had experience within the board for 13 years as an unqualified teacher and librarian. In 2010 I returned to UOIT to complete my B.Ed where I received honors and the Perservice Award of Teaching Excellence. In 2016 I completed my M.Ed. with UOIT with an emphasis on Inquiry Based / Experiential Learning and digital literacy. I am an active committee member of STAO (Science Teachers Association of Ontario) and a presenter at the annual conference on the connections of literacy and STEM at the elementary level. I currently hold a mentorship coaching position with STAO / Ministry of Education on an initiative to support inquiry/ project based learning in the classroom. During the summer I have taught a summer program to children ages 8-17 in the area of - robotics, environmental technology and a Canadian Indigenous program to children. I currently teach robotics in my classroom and work with a variety of CODE and board programs in deep learning and the implementation of robotics in our students integrated learning. I have acquired over 20 years of experience teaching children with a variety of LD's, and children with autism. I have practical teaching experience at Sagonaska Demonstrational School. Prior to my educational career I acquired business and marketing experience in managing a food retail business (IGA) for 10 years with 60 full-time employees. During this career I presented to other store operators the key to running an successful food retail store by incorporating a family setting and incorporating educational practices.
