I am a versatile and motivated professional with over 12 years of experience in the third sector, specializing in leadership, management, project management, fundraising, volunteering, and legacy and in-memory strategy. My career has been marked by a strong ability to manage projects from conception through to successful completion, with excellent attention to detail and a logical approach to challenges. I excel in developing and motivating others to achieve goals and targets, and I am known for my good interpersonal skills, compassion, empathy, discretion, sense of humor, and natural ability to communicate well at all levels.I have started a new chapter in my career at Sight Research UK, as Fundraising Manager. I will be exploring their different fundraising income streams, such as corporate fundraising, individual giving, major gifts and community, identifying opportunities to increase income to help fund future research projects. Previously, Local Legacy Manager (UK) at Marie Curie, I lead a regional team of eight Legacy Leads and one Assistant across the UK. I am responsible for the development of opportunities for engagement and stewardship, promoting awareness of legacies giving both internally and externally. I oversee the development and implementation of legacy acquisition events, while working collaboratively with our Legacy & In Memory Marketing Manager and Legacy Administration Manager to not only identify joint opportunities and ways of working but ensure that there is one legacy & in memory strategy across the whole organisation. My role also involves ensuring that all staff and volunteers have the knowledge and confidence to talk about gifts in Wills, helping to create a culture of legacy giving at Marie Curie.Before that I served as Fundraising & In Memory Volunteering Project Manager at Marie Curie, where I led the Volunteer Speaker Programme and the clubs, groups, and association programme. I have a proven track record of effective partnership working and ensuring organizational strategic goals are met. My work has increased raised income, and I have developed and coordinated numerous successful events and training programs.Beyond my professional career, I actively volunteer as a trustee for Citizens Advice Somerset. This role has provided me with valuable insights into the overall management of a charity, ensuring we meet our charitable goals while prioritizing the well-being of both staff and service users.
