About Kerry Adams

As a Speech Language Pathologist, I have 25+ years of experience serving adults with various neurological conditions. Since 2006, I have worked exclusively as the primary SLP at the University of Alberta ALS Programme. I am part of an interdisciplinary team, where I provide assessment, intervention, and support for communication and swallowing needs to those with ALS. My mission is to help people living with ALS maintain their communication access and quality of life, even if they lose their natural speech or voice. I am passionate about augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and I have expertise in selecting, customizing, and implementing various light- to mid-tech AAC systems and strategies. I am inspired by the resilience and courage of my clients, and they motivate me to live each day to the fullest.
