About Kerry Mairs

I am a Clinical Psychologist and credentialed eating disorder clinician with extensive experience in the management, co-ordination and delivery of eating disorder treatments. I'm trained in treatment protocols specific to eating disorders including Enhanced Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Family-Based Therapy for Anorexia Nervosa, Supportive Specialist Clinical Management and Schema Based Therapy for Eating Disorders, as well as trauma treatment including EMDR. I have recently been part of the development and commissioning of WA's first day patient psychiatric hospital, Esus Centre, which is an integrated day-patient and out-patient service for individuals with eating disorders and their families/loved ones. In collaboration with passionate and committed colleagues, we have developed a unique model of care for the delivery of eating disorder treatment, offering both high and low intensity services. I was a founding co-owner and director of The Swan Centre, one of the largest private specialised outpatient eating disorder clinics in Australia, working with a multidisciplinary team of Clinical Psychologists, Dietitians, Occupational Therapists and Consultant Psychiatrists. Prior to that I practised privately through the UWA Eating Disorder Service. As a Board Approved Supervisor, I supervise psychology students and Clinical Psychology Registrars and I have a special interest in supporting early career clinicians and training in eating disorder treatment. I remain passionate about the need for improved prevention measures, early identification and intervention as well as more integrated and collaborative recovery-focused treatment in the community.
