About Kerry Murray

I started in the construction industry in 2002 when I became a subcontractor and installed interior railings for new home builders. In 2003 I began installing decks, railings, columns, and other exterior finishes. I spent years perfecting my craft, and in 2011, I stepped into a supervisory role. At that time I was responsible for scheduling work in with subcontractors and builders, ordering required materials, confirming drawings and plans, and ensuring the safety of my workers while on site. When the service department began to slip, I was brought in to rectify the situation. I became the point of contact for all service related issues and having them resolved, while supervising up to three service technicians. In 2012, I was promoted to the position of Construction Manager. I was responsible for all of the day to day operations of the company including budget planning, tender submissions and negotiations, estimating, staffing, construction and service scheduling, inventory control, health and safety policy and programs and website design. I spent 8 years in this position, until I resigned in May of 2020 to start Mjolnir Construction. I’m a certified National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO), having achieved the accreditation through the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA) in May of 2017, making me one of the first in Ontario to receive such a title.
