About Kerry Quinn

I graduated as a Journalism student from the School of Communication and Journalism at Stony Brook University, where I wrote for the Stony Brook Press, participated in creating the Stony Brook Newsbreak, and was a member of the Sigma Delta Tau Sorority. My classes and extracurricular activities at Stony Brook provided me with a strong foundation, offering an introduction to the essential skills needed to begin my career. Currently, as a Social Media & Digital Communications Coordinator at Discover Long Island, I am responsible for management and curation of content across all social media platforms to boost audience engagement and brand visibility. My role involves creating and scheduling editorial calendars, producing diverse content, and coordinating production for Long Island TV projects. I also track social media marketing activities in an internal database, conduct market research to inform strategies, and attend trade shows, events, and press conferences to capture and share live content. Additionally, I consistently interact with partners to foster collaborations and support mutual goals. I am a hardworking and sociable individual who enjoys spending time with family and friends. I stay active by going to the gym, participating in fitness classes, jogging, and bike riding. Away from school, I like to explore New York City to take advantage of its offerings and enjoy the great beaches of Long Island during the summer.
