About Kerry Troyer

Kerry Troyer is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Scottsdale, AZ. Kerry has a true passion supporting those struggling to find peace to lead a rich and full life. It is her goal to develop safe, sacred spaces to explore and work through life’s challenges, and to find ways of cultivating healing and transformation. Everyone has a story. In therapeutic work with Kerry, you will investigate your story and identify less-than-nurturing moments from your past using Pia Mellody’s Development Immaturity Model as a framework. This model identifies core issues we take through our lives such as low self-esteem, poor boundaries, or an insecure attachment style that eventually become unmanageable. These core issues can turn into anxiety, depression, resentment, addictions, intimacy issues, and/or relational issues. Kerry helps individuals and couples identify the possible root of the problem so the client is able to experience healing and begin to live healthy, fulfilled lives. You are not broken or damaged. Because of trauma networks in your brain, your neural networks may be activated and employed in moments of conflict and distress, and you may feel stuck. For this reason, Kerry offers a unique and specialized treatment known as EMDR. This approach combines neurobiology with technology to accelerate the therapy experience. Kerry also integrates behavioral, somatic, communication strategies, and cognitive components in therapy. Her years in full-time ministry as a pastor’s wife and now as a licensed counselor have given her the greatest honor of sitting with a variety of people: from teen girls to young adults, from the newly married to couples in crisis, as well as ones who have experienced great loss and are facing unimaginable grief.
