About Kesha Geans

I received her Master's degree in Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health from University of Illinois at Chicago (Jane Addams College of Social Work). I began her career working as a MAT therapist at a Medicated assisted treatment center helping individuals process past trauma and develop healthy coping skills in order to minimize or mitigate their substance abuse. I later transitioned to work as psychotherapist \ and continues to provide therapeutic evidenced based interventions and treatment. I believe in holistic care and has also been trained in Integrated behavioral health. I enjoy working with individuals, couples and families wanting to address challenges pertaining to anxiety, boundaries, depression, relationships, and trauma, as well as their own personal growth and development. I have experience working with individuals of all cultural backgrounds in a variety of settings including treatment facilities, intensive outpatient programs, and managed care. I use therapeutic modalities based on the needs of my clients drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Solution Focused and Trauma – Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
