About Keshav Thapa

I am a multidisciplinary postdoctoral researcher with expertise spanning RNA biology, bioinformatics, molecular biology, and drug discovery. My career journey - from biotechnology to bioinformatics, biomedical imaging, and pharmacology and drug development - has given me the ability to bridge wet-lab experimentation with computational data analysis, enabling deeper insights and more impactful discoveries. Currently, I am part of Noora Kotaja’s research group, leading a project on long-read RNA sequencing of male germ cell - specific ribonucleoprotein granules. This research integrates advanced molecular techniques with state-of-the-art sequencing technologies to uncover novel mechanisms of RNA regulation in reproductive biology - with implications for fertility research, genetic regulation, and disease modeling. Core competencies: Wet-lab expertise: RNA/DNA extraction, molecular cloning, protein/RNA handling, immunoprecipitation, microscopy, sequencing library preparation. Computational skills: RNA-seq data analysis, bioinformatics pipeline development, statistical modeling, big data visualization. Translational impact: Applying molecular and computational tools to accelerate drug discovery, biomarker identification, and therapeutic development. I thrive in collaborative, interdisciplinary teams and excel at independent research execution.
