About Kessya Gregory

One thing you must know about me is I love being a designer. I love the creative freedom I get while at work and most of all, I love not being a starving artist. The thing is, I kind of fell into this role but looking back, it makes a lot of sense. I would walk into my friends houses and fix all of their crooked picture frames, I used funky fonts on my projects long before it was cool (people just called me quirky). But most of all, I crave learning; I love learning new things about art techniques and outside of work I can never choose just one. My mind is constantly coming up with new things to do and create which makes me a very valuable asset to a team that wants to step out of that same old look. Graduating from the University of Guelph in 2019 with an honours degree in marketing management taught me a lot about the business world but while I was in school for that, I was teaching myself how to use the Adobe suite (remember, I love learning). With that determination, I landed a job as a marketing graphic designer 2 weeks after graduating. I have learned a lot in these 5 years since graduating and it has been a whirlwind; from being on a small marketing team with Fully Managed to moving over to TELUS, one of the largest companies in Canada. Needless to say I wouldn't change a thing. Oh, I forgot to mention, I also run a small business in Ottawa outside of work hours. Follow Doom and Gloom Design for my *not* corporate design work :)
