Particular knowledge of propulsion systems, integration and train control. Experienced in all phases of projects from tendering to service introduction. Extensive knowledge of modern UK Electric & Diesel Multiple Units. Current Assignment: Working to introduce hybrid drive systems to ageing DMUs to improve performance, efficiency, emissions and to promote there life-extension: Previous recent assignment: Lead Engineer responsible for electrical schematics generation, Conventional Train Control and Systems Integration for the Class 345 “Crossrail” Class 710 “LoTrain” and subsequent "Aventra" projects. Other recent assignments concentrating on safety improvements and PRM TSI upgrades to door control circuits on diverse UK multiple units. Former role as Senior Vehicle Engineer for Bombardier Transportation with particular responsibility for innovation and concept development. Including Lead Engineer with full technical responsibility for the IPEMU “Battery Train” Trial for Network Rail. Previously Lead Electrical Engineer for Bombardier Transportation on Various Multiple Unit Projects including Class 172 “Turbostar” DMU for UK and Class 301 “Gautrain Electrostar” EMU for South Africa. Capable of providing technical leadership within multi-discipline engineering teams across a wide range of rolling stock design areas and throughout the product life cycle.
