I’ve spent over a decade navigating the fascinating world of mechanical engineering—learning from every new challenge I encounter. One standout moment I faced early in career was managing the disassembly of a spider crane then fitting it into a passenger elevator atop Zaha Hadid’s 520 W 28th Steet. That experience taught me that sometimes intuition, due diligence and most importantly trust is all that's needed to solve problems that require improvised solutions to unseeable problems. Currently, as a Consulting Engineer in the Medical Device Industry, I focused on projects related to catheter development, wearable medical devices, and medical manufacturing equipment design. I have completed sensor integration for a manufacturing quality control test device; automating error handling through the integration of a state machine. Recently I am placing an increased focus on pursuing full-time employment to better suit my intrapreneur work ethic; being a self-starter who excels in a more structured and engineering focused position. As a Machine Designer at M Cohen and Sons, I individually designed a novel TV lift for a customer resulting in 3 additional follow-on contracts, generating a revenue stream, adjacent but unrelated to typical custom architectural metal fabrication. I pioneered a new role to fulfilling a customer design assist, commissioned project, which necessitated self-reliance and efficient resource management. It’s rewarding to see how creative engineering can directly impact business success while solving problems of existing customers. Outside of work, I enjoy collaborating with peers on engineering projects that push boundaries—or at home, when solid molding or automation tools are the best choice to solve everyday problems. I believe that sharing knowledge and experiences is crucial for growth in our industry.
