Kevin Cail, PEng. is currently Chair of Scientific Advisory with CarbonCure Technologies. Prior to his current position, he was the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at CarbonCure responsible for all aspects of the technology development and market deployment as well as intellectual property and patent strategy. He has a strong association with external researchers, industry partners, associations and codes and standards and ultimately using this to making the connection between the science of innovation and industrial adoption. CarbonCure Technologies licenses green technologies to concrete producers who operate in competitive markets that are looking to differentiate their products and lower production costs. Specializing in concrete carbonation technologies, or what is commonly known as "beneficial reuse of CO2", the early addition of CO2 in concrete results in greener concrete with various material performance improvements, including higher early strength development. The company also offers a range of supporting technical and marketing services so producers can capitalize on the green building sales advantage. He is a former senior executive with Lafarge North America in charge of sustainability and commercial innovation located in Washington, DC and was responsible for Lafarge’s sustainability efforts in North America. His main role was to work on key corporate sustainability initiatives throughout the various Business Units of Lafarge North America, Cement Division. In addition, he was responsible for the commercial development and deployment of various innovation projects and product changes that have had a significant impact on the environment. He also managed and developed policy and direction related to those activities.
