About Kevin Campos

I started my college career believing that I would end up as an elected official serving in congress, so I majored in Political Science at BYU. After a year of college, I served a humanitarian mission with my church for two years. I lived in Chile where I was able to interact with hundreds of people and integrate myself within the culture. There I developed leaderships and teamwork skills to meet goals. I also developed humility and compassion as I worked with people from all walks of life. My career path was beginning to change as I cared more about helping others than gaining prestige through politics. When I came back, I realized that I wanted to help people and improve their lives, but I wasn’t sure how to do it. I eventually graduated and went into marketing to try to expand my skillset. I did not enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I didn’t know what to do or how to find what I wanted to do with my life. I was hired by Solcius as a Install Scheduling Agent in 2018. I quickly became a customer care coach after I was named Employee of the Month. While working at Solcius, I was still looking for direction. I stumbled across the MPA program at BYU and it covered everything that I wanted. I would be able to satisfy my desire to help people while also applying the skills and knowledge I gained with my undergraduate degree. I applied to the program as soon as I could. I was admitted into the program later that year and was excited to start. I am learning how to use statistical analysis so that I can find issues and solve them. I have a passion for helping people and I know that the best way for me is through the skills I will learn in the program. I am looking forward to use these skills to ensure that the citizens in the community feel like their city is working for them. kcampos@byu.edu
