About Kevin Chappell

I have been in the recruitment sector since 1982, starting with a major international company. I have now run my own successful recruitment companies for more than 27 years. I am recognised for pioneering Executive Leasing, or Professional Contracting as it became better known in New Zealand, and also for the development of the concept in Australia. I was responsible for the establishment of Executive Leasing in New Zealand and Australia for then internationally renowned publicly listed company, Morgan and Banks. This became the backbone of their growth in Australasia. I left M&B at the end of 1991 prior to an intended MBO, and established Executive Taskforce. As well as growing and developing Executive Taskforce, I invested time and effort in raising the profile of both the company and the talent acquisition sector through a high profile media presence on radio and in print. As a result of this approach, we became recognised as the category leader in Auckland, if not throughout the country. In a fairly conservative sector, I am recognised for “outside the square” thinking through the introduction of services that have now become mainstream. In 2006, the company was sold to a private buyer, and subsequently it went into liquidation in 2009, and the brand disappeared. Whilst having no further financial interest in the company, it was sad to see 14 years of hard work disappear. In early 2007 I established talentnow! and operate NZ-wide, with an industry-leading, low cost operating model. This has resulted in securing major clients in both the public and private sectors. We are also involved in other talent management services, including individualised advice and consulting services in recruitment strategy to organisations, search and recruitment facilitation in the medical sector. Specialties: Well regarded in the recruitment sector, especially in innovative areas such as professional contracting which I pioneered in New Zealand in the 1980's.
