About Kevin Cunningham

Kevin Cunningham is an award-winning New York based director, writer, designer, film maker, curator and producer. He is a director at 3LD, Inc. and is working with a small group of international cultural entrepreneurs to re-imagine 3LD at a larger and broader scale and on a more sustainable set of platforms. Over the last 16 years he has produced and/or created over 150 large-scale works including immersive theater, performance art, experimental opera and dance and 7 feature length films. He is also a Founding Partner of Limitless XP a company focused on interdisciplinary, cross platform creation in the commercial and institutional sectors. In a virtuous cycle relationship a significant portion of profits from Limitless XP funds original art & technology research and development and new ambitious creativity in 3LD, Inc. That innovation engine and talent pool will also benefit Limitless XP. In 1996 he founded and began overseeing the work of 3-Legged Dog Media and Theater Group. From 2002 to 2019 he was the Executive Artistic Director of 3LD Art & Technology Center, the company’s square foot center for the creation of original, large-scale ambitious artworks of all kinds with a focus on how technology is changing the way artists make work and audiences experience art. His artistic focus has been on the creation of a diverse, international collaborative, community-focused, large-scale immersive works that use technology to amplify empathy and human connection. Artistically he is focused on creating an experiential bridge state between cinematic, performative and lived reality in order to examine the nature of reality and perception in a media swamped world full of decoys and simulacra of dubious origin.
