About Kevin Davis

I have been working in shelters since 2021 with 2 years as frontline supervisor. I have a part time job working as a support facilitator for persons with disability. I have completed the Social Service Worker Diploma program at Centennial College. Graduated with honours in SSW, First People Studies and a Distinction in Leadership. I have (9) nine months of working experience at the Black Coalition for Aids Prevention. At Black CAP I work with the Trans MSM and Harm Reduction Department. I was the founder and facilitator of the ACB Transmen/masculine monthly drop-in program. I worked in the capacity of a peer educator, activist, advocate motivational speaker and advisor in the above mentioned department. I have attended workshops and focus groups with other organizations such as Aids Committee Toronto (ACT) and Ontario HIV Treatment Network (OHTN) as an ACB Trans advocate. Working with the homeless population has taught me to look at life differently in a first world country. I have a lot of knowledge and experience working with the homeless, marginalized communities, mental health, poverty, and persons with disabilities and substance users. I am an honest, hard-working, self-driven and highly motivated individual who is very good at teamwork or working with people. I have excellent oral and written communication skills as also excellent case management skills. I possess the ability to communicate verbally in any given situation in a clear and respectful manner to provide information, instructions, and directions regardless of environmental influences, ethnic group or sexuality. This enables me to assess problems, concerns and determine solutions or positive outcomes; with capabilities to make recommendations and take appropriate actions if necessary. I am well versed on culture, diversity/sensitivity with the ability to foster open communication and treat everyone in a consistent, fair, firm, and non-judgmental manner.
