A Senior Software Developer with more than 3 Decades of hands-on experience, I have worked as a Founding Team Member at 4 Startups in a Senior Technology Leader role, as well as experience working in some very large Corporations in the Insurance, Banking and Healthcare industries- Currently considering 100% Remote Roles only- Unique ability to straddle both the technical and business worlds, providing insight and cohesiveness to both sides of this sometimes difficult divide, aimed at providing appropriate solutions to meet the business need- Recent experience in the Healthcare industry with the HL7 FHIR Specification, a regular contributor to the HAPI-FHIR Open Source implementation of the FHIR Standard, previous work experience with DICOM, HL7, PACS and also working onsite at several Hospital locations during product implementations- Hands-on experience as a Software Developer and Software Architect, in addition to other roles such as Database Architect, development team lead, technical project manager and build & deployment manager- Experience developing and deploying solutions using a wide variety of technologies and several Open Source Frameworks including Java, Spring, Hibernate, Spring Security, XML and JSON- Hands-on experience with a variety of Java Application Servers including Tomcat, JBoss, Oracle 9iAS, BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, etc- Particular expertise dealing with implementations on multiple Database Platforms including the MySQL, Postgres, Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases- Unique experience dealing with large datasets and the issues associated with managing, manipulating, loading, replicating and maintaining data in a MySQL database- A founding team member of California-based startup StepUp Commerce Inc, providing the technology leadership from the initial Angel Rounds, through a Series A round of funding, and on to becoming a Series-B funded company using high-profile investors and Venture Capital firms based in Palo Alto, California. The company was ultimately purchased by Intuit for $60MM cash within 3 years of being established. Worked as the Founding Technical Lead at 3 subsequent startups.
