About Kevin Hedges

I have 32 years experience in occupational hygiene. I am a Certified Occupational Hygienist with the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (AIOH) and Certified Industrial Hygienist with the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH). My experience has been in heavy industry, mining and pharmaceuticals. AIOH monetary prize awarded in 1996, as scholarship towards completing a Masters Degree (completed AIOH professional development award provided in 2008 which covered all costs associated with attending the American Industrial Hygiene Association Conference and Exposition held in Toronto 2009 I have completed a PhD through the University of Western Sydney "evaluating miners exposure to respirable crystalline silica and health effects". I belong to an organisation "Workplace Health Without Borders (WHWB)" which is a non profit organisation and am passionate about protecting worker health. I am the past President of WHWB (International) and current board member. My father passed away at the age of 57 from lung cancer. He was based in South Australia with the Royal Air Force during atomic bomb testing, a fire fighter with Bristol (Avon) Fire Brigade and a coal miner (roof bolter) for 20 years.
