About Kevin Jamison

Prior to joining Edward Jones I was the Chief Appraiser for the Aransas County Appraisal District. Shortly after I retired in December of 2016, a friend and I saw an opportunity to fill a need in our community and we started a real estate development company. Things were moving along very well until we had a visitor come to town in August of 2017; Hurricane Harvey. As the recently retired Chief Appraiser I volunteered to come back as soon as the storm passed to help assess the damage. Our beautiful little coastal town was devastated. I was not prepared for the damage I encountered when I returned. Homes destroyed, businesses demolished and lives forever changed. But the spirit of our community was still intact. The next few months reshaped the way I prioritized what was truly important in life. With my appraisal background and construction experience I had the joy of helping friends and neighbors make temporary repair's, clean up and start the process of assessing the damage they had suffered. It was during those first few months that I realized how rewarding it was to help others. Many thought they were prepared, most were not. Many families were working hard trying to get ahead only to be caught off-guard financially by the devastation. Fortunately, we had the resources to get started putting our life back on track. Having lived through that experience I believe that the most rewarding work one can do is help others. Life deals us unexpected events, being prepared for them is hard.
