About Kevin Killeen

I have over 40 years experience working in the Engineering industry.With 20 years in deep coal mining where I gained my Degree and a wealth of management experience.I Left the mining industry in its decline and gained experience in Minerals processing and automated packaging lines. Involved in a Factory build and start up with Guardian Glass a major player in world glass which saw me well traveled to Canada,Brazil and most of Europe finishing as Maintenance Manager before venturing into my own business. This led me to work for TNT Post as National Engineering Manager taking them forward in the UK to be self sufficient in maintenance and grow in size. I then moved to Ingredion a Global leader in the food industry as Maintenance Manager/CI Manager/Deputy Plant Manager. I have evolved in a very safety conscious Business and hold a NEBOSH Certificate. I spent my later working years as shift engineering Manager at Morrison's bakery manufacturing site. I retired briefly for a few months and then coaxed out of retirement to teach Engineering in FE colleges. I now work for my sons company part time as a site warden/ team leader on the railways to assist in safety. My experience and expertise in Maintenance and Engineering as well as being a people Manager and a team leader have ensured my progression in my chosen field. I have 4 children and enjoy watching them participate in Rugby, Football, Boxing and Motocross. I enjoy travel and interested in new cultures. Places travelled include Thailand, Australia, Hong Kong,Malaysia, Bahamas, USA, Artic circle, Canada and Brazil.
