About Kevin Lyons

With over 30 years of work experience in law enforcement and health benefits administration, I am passionate about protecting the rights and interests of my fellow officers and their families. As a Plan Administrator at NJSPBA, I manage a legal protection plan that ensures due process for over enrollees who face allegations or complaints in their line of duty. I also advise our locals on health benefit choices and decisions that best suit their needs and budgets. I am proud to be part of an organization that advocates for the welfare and safety of law enforcement professionals across the state of New Jersey. In addition to my role at NJSPBA, I have been serving as a Committee Member at the New Jersey State Health Benefits Plan Design Committee since 2012, where I help determine the plan design for approximately state and local government employees. Through this position, I have contributed to implementing changes that have saved members and taxpayers around 4 billion dollars. I was also a Task Force Member at Gov.Murphy's State Health Benefits Quality and Value Task Force, where I assessed and made recommendations to improve the quality and value of the state health benefits plan that covers over lives. I leverage my skills in police administration, law enforcement intelligence, and law enforcement to provide insights and feedback on the health care challenges and opportunities that affect our public servants and communities.
