Career lawyer and hemp company co-founder. Over 35 years legal experience representing industry and individual interests in litigation, transactions, and regulatory matters involving energy, the environment, financing, reinsurance, equine, alcohol sales, and agriculture. Clients have included leading coal, manufacturing, banking, and reinsurance firms and interests in the equine and agriculture businesses, including breeders, racetracks, farm owners, cultivators, and trade associations. Recently worked with publicly traded, private, and foreign interests in energy asset acquisitions and divestitures, focusing on permitting, bonding, environmental due diligence, and legacy liabilities. Also involved in industrial hemp projects under the 2014 and 2018 U.S. Farm Bills. Founding counsel to the Kentucky Equine Education Project (KEEP), the trade association representing all horse breeds in Kentucky. Former lead counsel to the court-appointed liquidator of an insolvent professional reinsurer headquartered in New York with international book of P&C business. Led or supervised reinsurance and D&O litigation and arbitration proceedings in New York, Bermuda, Grand Cayman and London, including the House of Lords Privy Council. Currently launching the Magic Hollow Hemp Company, a Kentucky company growing industrial hemp and selling hemp-derived products, including full spectrum CBD supplements.
