Kevin Reece Senior Reporter Email: kreece@khou.com Visit me on Facebook: Twitter: https://twitter.com/KReeceKHOU At the 2013 Lone Star Emmy Awards in November, Kevin received the Emmy for Outstanding Feature Reporter in Texas, the fourth time he’s received that distinction in the last five years. He is a 24-time regional Emmy winner with awards for General Assignment Reporting, Live Reporting, and Writing. He is the recipient of three Regional Edward R. Murrow awards and in 2013 the Headliners Foundation of Texas also named him the Best Television Reporter in Texas for the third consecutive year. Kevin holds a Masters Degree in Journalism from Northwestern University and a degree in Business from the University of Southern California. A student Emmy nomination started his broadcast career at Palomar College in San Marcos, California where he also returned to serve as an adjunct professor. His television career has taken him from Eureka, California to Chattanooga, Tennessee to Seattle—and now Houston. A veteran of hurricane coverage from Andrew to Ike to Isaac, Kevin has covered more than his share of natural disasters, including tornadoes in La Place, Louisiana and record floods in the Pacific Northwest. The American Cancer Society and the Texas Medical Association have also recognized Kevin for his expertise in reporting on medical breakthroughs and research.
