I am a partner in the Fasken Martineau DuMoulin Taxation law practice group in Toronto, Canada. I advise multinational and domestic businesses in all aspects of Canadian and cross-border tax planning including corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, transfer pricing, real estate transactions, corporate finance, and executive compensation plans. I regularly advise non-Canadian investment funds, financial institutions, and internet-based enterprises structure investments into or carry on business in Canada. I advise individual clients and families on private company, trust and personal tax planning matters in Canada. I also advise a number of charities and non-profit organizations. I have experience representing taxpayers in tax audit matters and in disputes with the Canada Revenue Agency and provincial taxation authorities, and acts as counsel in tax litigation matters and administrative law matters dealing with taxation authorities.
