About Keyan Matar

I am a Materials Engineer at Lucid specializing in corrosion, failure analysis, and test engineering. In the past, I’ve held positions at SpaceX and Tesla working on new coatings, developing corrosion test methods and characterization techniques, at Rivian developing corrosion tests on next generation battery pack designs, as well as a manufacturing/materials science internship at Stress Engineering Services working on sample prep and characterization. I also recently completed a thesis-based Master's in Materials Science & Engineering at the Fontana Corrosion Center at OSU developing a new electrochemical extractive metallurgy technique. These experiences taught me the skills to be a successful engineer, including experience with various materials (steel, aluminum, coatings, polymers, adhesives), test development, material and mechanical testing, characterization techniques, and optimizing manufacturing techniques using DOE principles, just to name a few. I’m always looking to learn new things, and I have a genuine passion for solving problems. I love meeting new people and would love to connect with you!
