About Khady Copeland

Khady's upbringing in a Senegalese household within a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood instilled in her a deep curiosity for diverse cultures and effective communication across them. Armed with a Master’s degree in Management, a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies, and a Minor in Leadership Through Civic Engagement, she honed her skills in crafting program marketing and communication strategies in multiple languages, ensuring impactful services, and fostering multicultural dialogue. During her tenure as Communications and Marketing Senior Coordinator at Rising Tide Capital, Khady led the execution of content and engagement strategies across departments and geographical regions, fostering collaboration among cross-functional teams. Additionally, she played a pivotal role as a founding member of the Employee Wellness Committee, spearheading initiatives to enhance employee engagement and well-being. Her journey came full circle when she joined the HANDS team as Director of Community Initiatives and Organizational Learning in 2019. As the organization evolved, Khady transitioned into the role of Director of Programs, where she focused on developing economic opportunity initiatives for residents and businesses in Orange, NJ. Now, as the Development and Communications Director at Greater Newark Enterprises Corporation (GNEC), Khady continues her commitment to empowering communities through effective communication and strategic development. She also hosts GNEC's Fund Ready Podcast, sharing insights and expertise to further support the organization's mission.
