Background
About Khaled Salaheldin
Khaled Salaheldin earned his MA in Counseling Psychology from AUC. He also holds a BA double majoring in Psychology and Integrated Marketing Communication from the American University in Cairo (AUC), with minors in Sociology and Anthropology. In 2020, he started practicing psychotherapy with the onset of the pandemic, and he has been seeing clients, both online and in-person, since. He has experience working with clients of different backgrounds who deal with a wide array of issues such as depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, career issues, trauma, anger management, and identity issues. Salaheldin has worked with clients, mainly in their late teens to late 20s, at AUC’s Psychological Counseling Services and Training Center and Serenity Psychology Center and has provided psychoeducational webinars for frontline workers at Save the Children International - Cairo. As an undergraduate Psychology student, he co-founded the Psychology Association at AUC, served as its president, and has received three Humanities and Social Sciences (HUSS) Awards for his work in the Psychology Department at AUC. While firmly anchored in the humanistic principles of psychotherapy, Salaheldin’s approach to therapy draws from different strategies and techniques to provide an integrative bio-psycho-social approach to a treatment plan that is tailor-made to clients’ context and goals. Salaheldin is a firm believer that individuals have the capacity to grow and heal when given the proper support and validation. He also believes that psychotherapy proves its importance in its ability to elicit positive change and educate people on their issues through a personalized approach that is developed collaboratively through sessions.
