About Khali Flewelling

I have been in the working world since I was 16 where I began as a cashier at a store called Shopko. Working at Shopko is where I began learning some people skills. I also learned more about how large businesses run, how they stay busy and how they attract their customer base. I only worked there for about a year before I got my first job at a local chain called A&W. Here I served people and did my best for make their experience as good as possible. I learned more about customer service, time management, making change and ensuring that everyone leaves happy. After working at A&W I took a strong liking to the food industry and I dived into a larger corporate restaurant, Red Robin. I started out as a hostess where it was my job to make the guests feel welcome from the very second they walked in the door. Here I brought guests to their seat for the evening and introduced them to their menu in a timely matter as to be sure that other guests are not left alone. As a hostess, I began to want to do more and that is when I switched to serving. Serving leaves me responsible for certain guests while they are in the restaurant so I always strive my hardest to make sure that they have a positive experience. I want my guests to leave full, happy, and wanting to come back with all of their friends and family. Although I have never had an actual job in the field of children, I have always had a strong liking of kids. I grew up babysitting my nieces and nephews and from there I went on to babysitting kiddos in my neighborhood, kids of family friends, and then I began babysitting for families that had heard about me from others. Watching kids grow and making topics interesting to them has always been something that is close to my heart. Children are so young and innocent and all need a positive role model in their lives. I cannot wait to be a teacher for children someday and be that role model that they can count on five days out of the week!
