Khalid’s education includes an MSc in international development, a Graduate Certificate in sports management, and a BA in business administration. A Student Affairs Professional with a proven track record in student advising and international education. He's currently an Academic Advisor responsible for developing, providing, evaluating and assessing academic advising services, programs and projects for the faculty of Arts. Most recently, an Associate Advisor @ UBC’s Go Global as part of the Inbound Exchange and Transfer Credit teams, and also coordinating the UBC - Tec de Monterrey joint academic program through the inquiry to application stage and through the students transformative learning journey at UBC. Previously at Langara College, he was an International Student Advisor providing instruction on registration processes, academic advising and pre-arrival support to new students. Supports recruitment & retentions strategies and also supervises the IE Student Ambassadors program. Khalid is a tremendously passionate and collaborative professional who has been critical in the success of many programs previously at Douglas College. Specifically, his tireless work with the Zambia GLP was critical in getting the program off the ground, as well its development into a recognized program both locally and internationally, a co-curricular opportunity for students to volunteer in Africa through various study fields such as community health, sport and education. Khalid's able to see the big picture, identify and prioritize the key success factors required to ensure seamless delivery of a vast array of programs and events.
