I see Sharjah as a territory with unlimited potential. Our strong heritage and emphasis on education and culture are key parts of a strong foundation to build the future of media on. Having experienced the academic, technical and business aspects of media, I believe that we have the ingredients to bring our emirate’s infrastructure to the next level and enable thousands of new opportunities both locally and internationally. Our mission with Sharjah Media City is to create a world-class hub for media and creativity in the region. That means, most of all, making it accessible for talented entrepreneurs to set up and grow their businesses in Sharjah. Many companies are already registered within our free trade zone and they are a testament to the affordable and efficient licensing model we have created. Many of these are founded by students graduating from Sharjah’s best universities and there are unique ways we help them start their first business smoothly - both financially and through training. I am proud of our work but also realize we need to evolve it continuously. I believe in lifelong learning and understanding different perspectives which motivated me early on to do my Ph.D. of Telecommunications Engineering in the University of Bristol, UK. While it was difficult to be away from my country and family, I wanted to get the best insights and bring them back to the Emirates. This is an approach I still have today, and I regularly travel with my team to collect the best practices from all over the world. I plan to use LinkedIn to discuss the progress of our journey and share some of the learnings my team and I have gathered along the way. I am open to connecting to people passionate about the future of media and the UAE.
