About Khalid Dader

As a researcher, my interests are interdisciplinary, with a particular focus on masculinities, refugeeness, homemaking, and poetic justice. As a literary translator, I translate contemporary Arabic poetry, centering the voices of the marginalized and the Palestinians in the diaspora, and attempting to incorporate that in my research, highlighting poetic (in)justice. I hold an MSc in Human Rights and Multiculturalism, where I deepened my understanding of dignity's pivotal role in shaping a fairer world. My studies covered international human rights mechanisms, national policies, and theoretical models of integration. I also hold a BA in English Language and Literature, where I developed a strong interest in the power of literary narratives, which I am attempting to connect with human dignity as tools of emancipation in interdisciplinary settings, such as poetic justice, among others. Throughout my career, I've worn multiple hats, as a teaching assistant, mentor, translator, research assistant, learning facilitator, and communication-oriented roles, all while advocating for inclusivity and empowerment. Also, beginning work at a young age to support my education shaped my resilience, adaptability, and dedication to personal growth. These experiences, though challenging, helped me cultivate essential skills in teamwork, time management, and customer service—values that continue to guide my professional and academic journey.Beyond academia, I find solace in poetry and written expression. Through opinion pieces and verses, I attempt to comment on unsettling matters occurring in our world as well as personal experiences.
