About Khalid Langston

As a Cyber Security Engineer at Leidos, I have been responsible for the administration and management of security controls required in support of the Department of Defense's Next Generation Enterprise Network (NGEN), which serves over users and machines and workstations across the US Navy and Marine Corps. With my DISA HBSS and CompTIA A+ certifications, I have been able to create exceptions and tune signatures to allow legitimate network traffic, analyze logs to identify security issues, and patch compliance and remediation of vulnerabilities.I have over 14 years of experience in the IT security field, working with government and private security software contractors. Prior to joining Leidos, I was a Software Engineer and a Database Administrator at HP, where I designed, developed, and customized various applications using.NET languages, SQL, and machine and assembly languages. I also planned and managed the migration of databases to new technologies and monitored database performance and tuning. Before that, I was a Database Administrator and a Cost & Billing System Analyst at Manpower Inc, where I developed a financial records accounting database, supervised and trained 25 subordinates, and provided accurate accounting for a government purchasing/leasing account. Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a passion and talent for aligning security architecture, plans, controls, processes, policies and procedures with security standards and operational goals.
