About Khalid Malik

Professional Summary: As a Clinical Chief and Associate Program Director of the University at Buffalo‘s Department of Family Medicine at Erie County Medical Center (ECMC), I used to have a wide array of responsibilities. I saw patients at the Cleve Hill Clinic and round at ECMC with residents and the University at Buffalo‘s medical students. I enjoyed the business side of medicine and worked closely with ECMC administration. We continually worked towards decreasing readmissions, and improving quality measures for our patients. Our success had been in keeping our length of stay below the national average. We kept working on improving patient satisfaction scores by improving the communication between doctors and patients which is key in great patient care. I represent our department by sitting on various hospital committees which has been a great experience. It has given me different perspectives on lots of day to day issues related to our national health care system. Learning about PCMH has been a driving force for me in improving patient care.
