About Khalid Mehmood

I am an environmental scientist working at the intersection of air quality, emission dynamics, and public health. My research focuses on Asia—particularly China and Pakistan—and is expanding into Mediterranean urban environments. I study how emissions from biomass burning, industrial activity, and urbanization reshape atmospheric chemistry, worsen pollution, and threaten ecosystems and public health. I am especially interested in rapidly changing regions and how evidence-based strategies can improve air quality in vulnerable urban areas. My work is collaborative, engaging climate scientists, data experts, and policymakers to turn research into real-world solutions.
