Khalid Mehmood is a director at Cognizant within Healthcare Consulting Practice who has over 25 years of experience in business analysis, business strategy, project management and continuous improvement in the healthcare space. He is currently managing all outsourced Facets consultants who are contracting via Cognizant and deployed on various accounts i.e. BCI, Emblem, Care source, United, Topaz etc. Prior to Joining Cognizant, Khalid served UnitedHealth Group over seven as the Director of Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement. At UHG, Khalid led a team of six sigma black belts & master black belts and participated in overall strategy and deployment for UnitedHealth Group’s Lean Six Sigma program. Khalid spent over 6 years at UHG as a Black Belt and then as a Director playing key roles in the development of UHG IT’s Six Sigma programs from infancy to maturity. Prior to joining UnitedHealth Group, Khalid served as Senior Business Manager and Analyst (BA) at MetLife where he managed and coordinated financial strategic initiatives within Individual Business Operations & Services. Khalid performed and led financial analysis on projects to determine ROI and ROE, and other cost/benefit analysis. Facilitated project analysis, annual Service Level Agreement (SLA), case management & underwriting cycle time, medical vendor management, budgets, process improvement workflows, system enhancements, enterprise relationship management and business continuity. Led a team who was responsible for the evaluation, analysis, development and implementation of processes & operating arrangements affecting business functions for all Life and Annuity, Remittance Services, Broker Dealers and the Enterprise GA. At MetLife, he was instrumental in coordinating resource allocation across multiple business lines and operational units and directly supervised a professional staff of twenty Business Consultant(s). Khalid is a Certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt and holds a Master degree in Information System as well as MBA in Finance from Rutgers University, NJ. He received his undergraduate degree in Marketing from Kean University of New Jersey. Khalid is a long-time member of American Society of Quality, American Marketing Association, and Software Engineering Institute and Six Sigma community.
