About Khizer Abbasi

An experienced international trade, government relations, and business development professional. I am currently working as a Senior Policy Analyst at the Crown Investments Corporation, Government of Saskatchewan. In this role, I am primarily responsible for contributing to the development of Saskatchewan's long-term energy security strategy and supporting the department's industry engagement initiatives. Prior to this, I worked as a Senior International Relations Officer and Engagement Specialist within Saskatchewan's Ministry of Trade and Export Development. I have also had the privilege of working for the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador and Global Affairs Canada. Previous to my public service roles, I worked in a variety of marketing and management roles in the agri-food business, IT and the retail sector. Engaging with business leaders, senior government functionaries, and various industry stakeholders, has consistently been a part of my professional journey. As an individual driven to learn, research, communication and problem solving are the areas I am strong at and also underpin the rest of my skill profile.
