I have worked in operational management role for over 12 years, working on some of the UK’s high-profile events which include the 2012 Olympics, 2012 Paralympics, Glastonbury festivals, Brit Awards ceremonies, and London Gay Pride Festivals. Alongside this I have worked in the education sector for London Metropolitan University in the Rocket bar in a managerial role for 12 years. I managed a two-floor bar/club venue with a 1500 capacity with a large outdoor seated area. I catered for all types of events ranging from live bands and live performances, late night club events, comedy and cabaret nights to weddings, conferences, and film premiere showings. The venue had a 24-hour licence with the capability of late-night refreshment. As the Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS) I had full responsibility to ensure and maintain that the venue was fulfilling all its legal requirements, to produce and implement risk assessments to operate safely and to ensure that all staff inhouse and contracted, were abiding by all licencing and government legal requirements. I have experience in developing and maintaining professional relationships with local authorises, stakeholders and other affiliated groups and organisations, and the local community. I have experience with managing budgets I provided up-to-date information on all income and expenditure and where the business is financially standing in relation to its budgeted and forecasted targets. I also provided current and relevant information on how the business is preforming, evaluation of the viability of events and highlighting any potential risks or hazards and providing solutions to resolve these. I have experience in recruitment and training of all staff, to ensure a high standard of customer service and customer care. I have contract managed all service contractors that supplied services and goods, and when contractors were coming to their end or a new service provider was needed, I worked with procurement to tender for a new contractor to ensure that we were getting an affordable and reliable goods or service in a fair and timely process. I have written and updated many policies and procedures and risk assessments and kept them updated in accordance with industry standards. I have written financial procedures in accordance with the university’s financial department, and ensured that all GDPR and PCIDSS procedures are maintained accordingly.
