About Kia Carson

As a lead coordinator at Emory Autism Center, I applied my skills and knowledge in applied behavior analysis (ABA) treatment to support children with autism and their families. I lead staff in my classroom on a day to day basis implementing training, quarterly reviews and project planning for classroom. Other tasks included staff scheduling, assisting in onboarding and hiring, and daily communication/ building connections with families. I also have years of experience in sales and administrative work. I am passionate about helping children with autism develop their social, communication, and cognitive skills, and empowering their parents and caregivers with effective strategies and resources. I have strong communication, task management, and leadership skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, and social media platforms. I also have a background in psychology, with two bachelor's degrees from Georgia State University and Virginia Commonwealth University.
