Background

About Kiah Shepherd

With a background in account management, leadership, and administrative support, I have developed strong organizational, analytical, and customer service skills that I am eager to apply to an accounting role. Over the years, I have gained hands-on experience in managing financial transactions, processing payments, reconciling accounts, and maintaining financial records. My attention to detail and problem-solving skills have allowed me to achieve significant improvements in accuracy and efficiency. For example, at State Farm, I was tasked with managing and streamlining the spreadsheet for commercial business renewals, coverage, and premiums, where I reduced margin for error by developing a more structured process and formula. This not only minimized manual entry errors but also increased the speed of data input, saving valuable time. Additionally, in my role as a Shift Leader at Lee Ann Chin, I consistently ensured accurate POS reconciliation, balancing registers at the end of each shift with zero discrepancies, demonstrating my strong focus on financial accuracy and operational efficiency.". I am currently focused on expanding my skills in accounting and am actively pursuing opportunities to further develop my knowledge of accounting through North Hennepin's Accounting Transfer Pathway program. I am passionate about applying my experience with financial management and data entry to help businesses thrive.
