About Kiara Daniel

Changing careers and completing a degree during a pandemic posed many challenges, however I persevered and gained new skills utilizing technology and found new ways to build connections and make a difference in my community. I also became an advocate for mental health awareness earning a certification in suicide prevention. Obtaining my bachelors of science degree in psychology with a minor in Child and Family Development allowed me the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in case management, mental health, families as core partnerships, and human services support which was a longtime dream achieved. Growing up I saw the women in my family provide advocacy and support to children and families within our community and the huge impact it made in the lives of others. While in high school, I found myself constantly volunteering in programs working with young children, youth, women, and all those who needed support. I reflect and realize my calling has always been to help children and families. I get fulfillment from helping others whether it is providing resources, building programs for young people, or helping others navigate their mental health and personal wellness in these times. A lot of it comes naturally since in my free time I enjoy all things wellness. That includes yoga, hiking, reading books, doing morning meditations, watering my plants, drinking tea, and working out. I love spending time with my family, listening to music, listening to podcast, and playing with my dog who has tons of energy.
