About Kidus Molla

I believe that education is not limited to just school, but it continues with hands-on and real-world experience. And this past summer I continued my education, by gaining insightful hands-on, real-world experience, as I completed my internship at the Virginia State Corporation Commission as a Securities and Retail Franchising Intern. I had the opportunity to learn about and implement Securities and Retail Franchising regulations. I learned and familiarized myself with CFIS and i2 to provide support to active securities investigations. And as part of my experience, I also had the opportunity to directly impact Virginians who seek to make informed investment decisions, by assisting in the publication of investor education material. I am currently a Senior at Virginia Commonwealth University pursuing a dual degree in Finance and Real Estate and a minor in Economics, with an expected graduation date of December 2021. During my time at VCU, I discovered that some of my strongest traits were tenacity, ambition, self-reflection, and my ability to invite feedback. I am also goal-oriented and it is because of these traits I have held many leadership roles. I am fortunate enough to have been recognized for my leadership skills and capabilities, as it was only three months into my freshman year when I was first elected to Vice President of Engage, The Foundation at VCU. Since then, I have held three additional leadership positions in three separate organizations. I currently still hold two of my most recent positions one being with the Financial Management Association as Treasurer, and the second being with Rho Epsilon as Vice President; amounting to about 5 years of leadership experience. While enrolled as a full-time business student I was also able to gain insightful work experience, as I worked part-time at CoStar Group, as a Tenant Surveyor and a Tenant Research Technician. Within those roles, I was able to develop skills such as customer service/relationship building, research, and data entry and analysis. Through my finance and real estate educational background I have been able to develop a knack for problem-solving and critical thinking. I enjoy developing financial models, calculating WACC, and working on financial forecasting.
